The new band I'm with has been using this rig, running a bridged QSC RMX 1850 per sub and a Yorkville 4040 (1200w@4ohm/ch) to the tops. They don't believe the BFD's can keep up with them.
The weekend has now passed. What can you share with us?

Well, we didn't get to do a proper A/B comparison due to lack of time. Friday night we used the BFD cabs, Saturday night we used their old rig. I ran the DR250's each on one channel of a QSC RMX 1850, and the Tuba 24's from one channel (1200w@4ohm) of a Yorkville 4040. Ran their subs with a bridged 1850 to each, and the Yorkville tops one on each side of the 4040 - more than twice the power amp wattage we used for the BFD's since the DR's are an 8 ohm load. Their subs were wimpy, supposedly the boxes were an Eminence design but were loaded with Peavey BW 18's. The tops sounded ok....seemed somewhat louder than the DR's when you're right in front of them, but back 30 feet and there's not much there. Bottom line, the BFD cabs sounded louder and better with less than half the power, size & weight. Not to mention, just four 10" drivers for an entire PA vs. four 18's & four 15's.
