Yamaha mx12/6

#1 Post by Bones »

I found a deal on one of these used for 150... Anybody had any experience with the mx series? And does it have a compressor?

No ( Looked at the pdf manual ).
( not too likely to find a compressor on a 12 chl. bd.
Though the yamaha MG124CX appears to offer compression on the first four channels )

And very nice sounding comps they are, at that. :)

I use two Yamaha mixers. The first is a EMX5016CF Powered Mixer which I use at the college that I work for. The second is a MG166CX which is my personal mixer. I bought it new (opened box) from an ebay store for not much more then you are going to pay for that used one. I really like the Yamaha's for a budget mixer. They sound good and the compressors are very usable. That one feature alone makes them worth buying. I did not look up the mixer you posted but make sure it has the compressors.
