Hey guys, I've been looking at the Crown XTi for their built in EQ feature as I will be using them mainly to power Jack 10s as keys monitors/FOH.
My question is, will the XTis be able to replace a 31 band graphic EQ?
is the 6 band parametric EQ in them tweakable on the fly? or only in the system architect program?
Tones.

Re: Crown XTi
I've got one, and it's got 8 channels of parametric EQ, with variable width, per output (i.e. one for the tops, one for the subs). It doesn't work like a graphic EQ, so I can't say that it can replace it, but you can get some pretty precise curves using the parametric and the visual graph the software interface generates. It is tweakable only when hooked up to a computer running the software, though you can save up to 20 different presets. If you switch presets with the front panel, there is a half-second of silence.
It's great for making a permanent match for your speakers, or even a number of different set-ups (different speakers, sub/top ratios, inside/outside). I don't think it's good for making room-specific adjustments for this reason -- even if you brought a computer to run the software, you'd be dealing with the preset curves already made with parametric EQ'ing, leaving you only a couple leftover frequencies to adjust.
