2 t48 and 4 dr280

#1 Post by Dave Non-Zero »

I'm standing here behind tour engineer. I just crapped myself when the headline act went on coz there was all top and no sub. Ran over to amps, they were fine, pushed my way to the front to check the subs were working (centre cluster of stage) they were def on, but none of the kick I was getting from the support acts. Went back to booth.... Asked where is the bottom end!?!?! Oh I eqed it out he says. Haha was too much for him in a 300 capacity venue. Wierd. Owner came over and said, what's up with the sound? Doesn't sound as good as usual.

Ah well. I'll take that as a compliment for me and Bill. ;)

So, was it you who was on the board for the previous acts, then? Too bad the owner couldn't request for more kick/bass.

Did you mix the support acts and the tour guy mix the main act?

I should be up in Scotland in a month or so, I'll have to check your diary to see if you are doing a gig.

How can you be a sound guy and not like bass?

Yeah I was mixing the other bands.
It was a pretty strange thing to happen really, usually I'm worried that tour engineers aren't getting enough bass/kick.

Chris. There are gigs on here all the time, just let me know when you are gonna be up Dundee way and unless it's the week of T in the Park then I should be around and I can organise a demo. :)
It would be great to meet you.

he actually had loads of kick in the mix. Made very clicky. And he spent ages requesting two kick drum mics sent to a group with overall compression etc.
I just took it off for the support acts and did my own thing.

Ah the beauty of a digital desk..... :)
