Plugins crossover for sac hep!!

#1 Post by Chris Betancourt »

Just got my sac up and running and was tweeking last night but got on a holt for the crossover section. Im using Christian's Budde's Dual Linkwitz-Reilly crossover and plg it in on main output channel 1 for highs and channel 2 for lows but channel 2 I got the lows OK but channel 1 can't get the high range to come through I just get lows too, can't find the way to set the sound of the highs to come out for channel 1!!???? :wall:
I know It could be a simply fix but this is all new to me, and the sound of the sac is amaizing!!!!

where are you crossing the subs and tops at? 100hz? 80hz?

the plugin for the subs should have both the hicut and lowcut engaged, while the plug for the tops has only the lowcut engaged.

chan 2's hicut and chan1's lowcut should be at the same freq and slope...typically

Yes, although many of us run without any kind of hardware controller, and do all mixing and adjustment on screen. There is support for up to 32 faders with the BCF2000 fader pack, and multiple options for controllers, and hardware. There is also a company (Computer Integrated Audio) that sells prebuilt systems (at a premium price) which work out of the box. Even at their prices, it's still a far better deal than any digital console out there.

and its scalable......most of the time i only use 8 inputs and 2 outputs...just 1 ADA8000

system can handle 3 times that..easily....

the REAL deal however is sound quality

best ive ever heard for such a meager price tag.....(actually ANY price tag)

ultra flexible with options unimaginable with an actual analog mixer...

SAC's refocused my thinking from how many rackmount units it takes to get the sound i want, to "Ok, now what to do with all this analog crap collecting dust???" and wishing i'd bought smaller, stackable cases, rather than the big ball busters.....

My current SAC setup uses a Raydat soundcard for 32 in and out thru 4 ADA8000 pre-amps. Seconding all that Brent has said and quaizyrabbit... I have yet to run into a routing problem that I could not make work with SAC. Sound quality, clarity....I would dread going back to any other digital or analog console.

Heh... ain't that the truth. Funny thing is, I have an opportunity to enter a partnership later this year to revitalize a local company's install business, and I'll have to sell the other stuff, mainly because the partner is a digitalphobe.

Life's full of it's little quirks, isn't it? Time to brush up on the old RatShack sales skills... i.e. "Yeah, it's the best thing in the world and it'll do way more than you'll ever want it to do...."

I'm too honest to be a good salesman. :bash: That's why my customers always came back though...
