For a home audio system, I see a lot of used BSR graphic eq's with spectrum analyzers and pink noise generator built in. I assume they have some sort of built in mic. I read about the pro's here who use software and a mic to eq their systems. I am on a Mac. Can I get my own mic and software and my Mac becomes the spectrum analyzer? Recommendations on a mic and Mac software?
Thanks in advance!

Re: EQ's with Spectrum Analyzer obsolete?
You use the mic and computer to analyze response in exactly the same fashion that a spectrum analyzer does, but it won't EQ the system, you still need separate EQ hardware to do that. Many HT receivers today have built in Audyessy that eliminates the need for an external analyzer/EQ.coolhandjjl wrote:For a home audio system, I see a lot of used BSR graphic eq's with spectrum analyzers and pink noise generator built in.
