Jack 212 for bass cabinet

#1 Post by oneplaybass »

Just finished 2512 loaded Jack 212. I know everyone says build two 1x12's for ease of packing, but this will always be moved on a handtruck and never used for P.A. use. The one cabinet will actually work better for me. I didn't add any piezos. I like it just fine for my playing style (country, southern rock mostly) I can dial in enough highs to pop a little, but that is a very small part of what I do. It's also the perfect height to hold my head without me having to carry something else to set it on or be bending over all night to tune or make an adjustment as I feel I would if I built just one. The double will be total overkill volume wise for the small band I play in 90% of the time , but I love having the extra for the few times we do a non P.A. supported small place and one trip with a handtruck is one trip with a handtruck so why not...
The tone is great..has a lot of range....I've never been disappointed with any of Bill's designs and this is no different!

Looks great - almost looks like you matched the grain in the horn throats. ;)

I plan to Duratex everything but the front. I'm leaving it bare wood and getting my band friends and family sign it.

After everyone signs it, you should put some clear sealant on it (varathane, polyurathane....) to keep the good looks! :ugeek:
