auraco at Lowes in Baytown Texas
auraco at Lowes in Baytown Texas
They were out of 1/2" auraco for several months, now they have a small stack in, and the price has come down. It's $21 a sheet. Might give it another try, maybe if I keep the cut pieces in the house (lower humidity) until I'm ready to use them.

Thanks, I saw some at the Lowe's in Texas City the last time I was in there but it was warped pretty good.
I thought I would try the new Lowe's in League City when I'm ready.
I'm not going to buy until I'm ready to build (warping). When I do buy it I'm going to keep it inside until I cut it.
Hoping to get started next weekend. Got to finish porting 2 heads first.

I never had any trouble with it warping before I cut it. after you cut it is the time you have to be careful with it around here. would probably help to keep it inside before too. My first T48, I cut several pieces and then tried to cut the 1/4" grooves in them for the braces, and the grooves would be full depth on either side of the piece and barely touching in the middle. The pieces had already warped. If I were you, I'd keep it inside until I cut it, and then keep any pieces cut and not installed inside also. Sounds like you aren't too far from me, I live just north of Baytown.MDW wrote:Thanks, I saw some at the Lowe's in Texas City the last time I was in there but it was warped pretty good.

Just got back from Home Depot & Lowe's.
I bought a spindle sander @ Home Depot.
I found the plywood @ Lowe's in League City.
It was a lot straighter than the stuff in Texas City.
I also was looking for something to make the TLAH's out of.
I found Poplar to be more expensive than I remember.
I also looked at some pine that looked interesting.
It wasn't normal white or yellow pine.
I may give it a try for the faces.
