Yamaha Digital Mixers

#1 Post by dales69 »

Other than number of channels, are there any major differences between Yamaha's O1V, O2R, and O3D?

Huge differences, especially the price.

Fleabay has an 03D for $500 "buy it now". Is it worth the price difference with an 01V?

The 03D originally sold for nearly twice what the 01v did. $500 is a very good price.

I paid $500 for an 01v on ebay...so that same amount for an 03D is a great deal.

I use an origional 02r v2. It works really well for live sound although its not really made for it.
I've heard of people not liking the 03d for some reasons. Check the prosoundweb live audio forum.

Check the Sound on Sound website. They have reviews of each unit. Apparently the hitch in the O3D's getalong is a single rotary control for parameters. It is slower to get around during a live gig when you need to do several things in short order. (I haven't had the pleasure, that's just a quick summary from the review.)

O2R http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1996_ar ... ha02r.html
O2R96 http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Oct02/a ... a02r96.asp
O3D http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1997_ar ... ha03d.html

Good Luck,

4 T39 (20" BP102), 2 TT ( 1 ea W8-740C, HL10A)
2 Wedgehorn 6, 1 Wedgehorn 10

Thanks for all the replies.

I'm going to have to pass on this mixer, the band looks like it's going to be breaking up and I have a ton of equipment already.

If anyone wants this mixer, it's item number 330391912875 on e-bay. It's been relisted at $475 "buy it now" or best offer.

Again, thanks for all the replies.

One does have to wonder why it doesn't sell...
My biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my toys for what I said I paid for them.

Because it's not a Mackie, nor does it look like one. If I needed a mixer I snap it up in a heartbeat.
