Are you talking about the gaskets on the 3015LF? Yeah, that back gasket is a little thin, but I'm sure it will do the job. Out of the 4, 3015LFs I have, one of them is from 2011 (I bought it two years ago). It's front gasket is thin like the rear one. I'm hoping it seals just fine the first time. If you do add weather stripping, be sure to go around the mounting holes too.

Main chambers are tight! Woo Hooooooo!
Weatherstripped the hatch flanges and made up the hatch braces.
Glued and screwed the hatch braces. Gotta wait for the glue to tighten up.
Remaining leak testing tomorrow night! :noob:

 Congratulations! That's a big load off your shoulders. So...what do they sound like with the access cover off? Does anything come out of the horn? Just curious...I'm living vicariously through you at this point. :D

Just pushing 30Hz sine at this point. Nothing out of the horn as the driver faces almost directly out of the chamber. It's just waiting for the hatch and then the magic will happen. Those extra 2 ohms will appear and raw unadulterated physics will consume the atmosphere in and around my shop at which time I will probably scream: "IT'S ALIVE... IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!" and then my wife and children will rush out to the garage shocked and slightly embarrased at the way in which I am celebrating........

Oh well. Time for bed anyway.......

OK.... Tired right now but I will give a progress report. Hatches on. No leaks that a tiny bit of PL overnight won't fix. Amazon split my cable order so two of my 25 footers won't be here until next week. I stopped by GC and picked up 4 NL4 ends, sacrificed one of my 50 foot 12awg extension cords to make up the needed cables. Tied them all up and put the good old 30Hz tone through and started creeping up the gain. Slowly. Slowly. Got to about 8.5 volts when objects in the shop vibrating in sympathy began to drown out the test tone. Gave it a quick bump to 10 volts and then eased it back down and turned everything off.

I will be giving them their maiden run tomorrow once properly crossed over and limited. I will dress them in a black sheet as I have not done any finish work for cosmetics.

But as for tonight: Bricks have been shat in this household.

Just got home from the maiden voyage of the T48s.... I don't know what to say. Amazing, brilliant, extreme..... nothing really captures it. On the DCX, I high passed at 35Hz, crossed over at 100Hz and limited to 50v with the amp gain dimed. Brought the amp gain back down to ~75% for the show and just DESTROYED the venue. We were in a double gym at a local YMCA. I lined up the cabs like this [][][][] behind the wing curtain (and the bass player) without wall or corner loading. All the audience saw was the stick-mounted Mackies and really didn't know what hit them.....

In short, I am pleased.

I will try to get some better pictures and video of the event over the next few days!

The meter photo didn't come out too well but there's a mark on the tape 3 lights from the bottom that indicates 100db measured at the desk during warmup (~60 feet from the cabinets). Didn't have time to meter during the show.

And just in case I thought it couldn't get any better for the night: The guest band we had in for a few songs (we've worked together a couple times over the past year) let me know that they were downsizing (by weight) part of their rig and GAVE me an amp at the end of their set. Of course it's a little on the heavy side at 38lbs but it was free and just might match my BFM builds. Crown K2. I hope to test it out this week.

Now if I could just talk them into selling me their 8 buss Allen and heath mixing desk.......
