Its the highpass filter for the piezos..build to spec.
My apologies for the false alarm then!

Ok tested the speakers yesterday, video and audio to be posted tonight or tomorrow. I dont know what these things would sound like with the Emenience speakers in them but they are BITCHING with $5 Peerless in them. Completely satisfied, exceeding my expectations.

Sweet! How did you decide on the drivers you used?
I was thinking of using these Aurasound NS525-255-8A that are $2 each.

just compared the specs provided in the plans tto various speakers offered via parts express and picked ones close to bills reccomendations. Also figured in the amp I would be using (not the one in video) for my req rms. Then I picked the speakers with the highest ratings @ the best price

Clint,
How much of what frequencies did you need to adjust?
On mine, I had to bring the 5k Hz down at least 9dB. But my drivers rolled off at 5.5k. Your drivers roll off lower at around 3.5k. Plus, you've got a little lower extension.
Overall, have you run a RTA to check the highs & lows?

I havent ran an rta on it yet, I didnt have all my equipment with me when I shot the video. It was kinda short notice but I did the best I could. Honestly I cant recall what specific eq settings were i just kinda boosted mids and highs and cut the lows a little. you might be able to make out the settings on the video, i show a shot of them. when do we get to see yous in action?

also, this might sound crazy but I didn't see the answer in the plans... I'm just curious why SLA and TLAH mount the 1016s in "vertical" mode instead of a stack of horizontal piezo horns like a non-melded array in a DR/otop/wh?
GF is picking up a box of Aurasound NS525-255-8A in Madison next weekend (and would be picking up 4 DR250s if that one guy ever responds!!) We'll see how ubercheap drivers work in a pair of TLAHs. If they are okay but not amazing, I'll stain them and get them in the barn where our wedding reception will be.

I'm guessing because 'line array' though I don't have the knowledge to explain why.

I watched the video. Sounds good! Couldn't tell which way the taper in the columns was going. It looked like you had the bottom on the ground. Hope that's not where the open end is! I tried mine with the taper & open end going up. Works fine and they're less likely to tip over. My suggestion to any would-be-builders is to build them with the tweeters on the narrow end so you can stand them on end without stands with the open end up.

Also, how do you find the bass response of your TLAH? Is it strong enough?
