Have you finished these yet? I'm curious as to the P.Audio's performance. Though you don't have an Eminence-loaded cab to compare, would be good to share your opinion on the alternative driver.

I feel like a right rebel with the way this tread has developed........... Anyway, all painted and just waiting for some metal grille to get here. Not tested at volume yet but results to come when thats done. Shape wise these are the nicest BFM subs i've ever build and I have high expectations for them, unfortuatly the Punisher vs T39 comp I've talked of isn't likely any time soon.

I see a jug of PVA glue next to the can of paint. Do you mix the two? A sound company around here does and I was wondering if you do as well.

First few coats that are applied thinly with a smooth roller yes, i mix pva in. That paint (aldcroft/tuff cab) is water based so water should work fine to. Helps the paint go a little further since the PVA is cheap.

What would be the benefit of that?

I think it "Helps the paint go a little further since the PVA is cheap."

In the words of the guys at the sound company ... "It helps the paint stick better"
I also remember my grandfather would thin PVA glue with water and use that as a primer on bare wood to seal it before applying high gloss alkyd (oil based) paint.
I have no idea how much of a benefit it provides, just noticed now 3 people using the same technique.
