They look great, Bruce, as does the head case! I made myself a similar case, 3-rack-space, for my preamp/poweramp setup, but I used crap paint, so I need to go and hit it with some Duratex after tomorrow's gig.

I appreciate seeing a XF build, as I've been wanting to do one myself, to pair with a couple of low-wattage micro tube amps I picked up recently (Kustom Defender 5 and Orange Micro Terror). I'm a bass player through and through, but I like to see how the other half lives from time to time. And who knows, I might get one of my guitarists interested!

As most everyone here knows, I almost always run direct. But tonight, we played at a place that provided the PA (it's one that run sound on occasionally and have recently tuned)....and I wasn't sure what to expect on the monitor front since I'm always at FOH. So, I broke out the XF210 and put it in play. Sounded good - as it should.

It's a nice box and even though I will rarely use it, I'm glad to have it around.

Nice and sweet!

Clean job, you do it right! I wish I could go faster ith my own cab! woodworking is about to be finished, then I'll have to put the tolex and grill cloth, and all the little things to finish it...

I'm tellin' ya'......once you use duratex, you'll never use tolex. I wrapped a rack case in rat fur once...I still use it and it's getting kinda' shabby, but one day it will get ripped off, sanded and replaced with duratex.

I've had my fight with ripping both off- never again I said.

I guess you're right for the ease of apply of duratex and the strong finish, but I definitely prefer the looks of tolex. Plus my ammp head is tolexed, so I want a matching cab to suit her perfectly (remember "Guitar players themselves have never had a problem with looking funny, but they do draw the line when it comes to how their gear looks").

And I can't help myself of thinkin' to an old Hughes and kettner I had when younger, that was finished with duratex... I don't like that much the finish... Some thoughs are hard to overcome...

Can't argue with that.

Nothing wrong with being stubborn if you really know what you want....and you do.

Lots of folks just think they have to use tolex because most cabs come that way, obviously you have a very specific look that you want - so go for it. Looking forward to seeing it.
