So I didnt get much done today.. I did however make this assembly jig for the compression driver horn module faces to help make these consistent in size and reduce sanding time. This spreads them apart right at the perfect measurement to match the horn and hold the pieces while fastening them together.. Such a simple jig to make even if you are building just 2 cabs..

Thanks howiez.. you are pretty close, I figured all the money I save building my own cabs it was a great investment.. I actually ordered another one since my work load is drastically growing, and Im seriously considering making it a business.
I so wish I lived closer, I'd come work for/with you on the business! My day job is the CAD world, so every thing I've done with BFM, I've remodeled in 3D ad-nauseum to try things, get cutlists closer to exact. A CNC would be the icing on the cake!

I live in Wisconsin. Use Inventor and AutoCAD. Have not done much CNC programming yet.

Bob- do you have any "special events" scheduled? What nights are really popping- Fri and Sat I assume. Any big headliners planned this year? (It's a semi cross country drive for me, so that's why all the questions.)

Hey Bob,

I found this the other day and thought about your shop when I saw it:

https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/cnc-m ... eenLean-v1

The only disadvantages I see right off are 1.)The necessity to add tabs to the work or come up with a low profile vacuum table and 2.) It's only 4x8.

5x8 or 5x10 would be best, I guess.

Hi Rich, we always have big events but you should probably check our website for updates and see what interests you.. Its clubtherapyri.com... If you do end up coming this way please let me know!

The whole space saving aspect of it is great.. but you are correct, you would have to tab every single piece you cut or you would make a lot of fire wood.. Also I believe its all wood, that would def make for some inconsistencies over time and never mind the slow feed rates you would have to use so the gantry doesn't flex.. great diy machines for the money though

You guys know me to well lol.. Ive since re-cut these parts with some modification to expedite these.. I basically dado all the mating surfaces and increased the size of the cleats to help hold the little pieces straight and square while tacking together with brad nailer. Now I can get the brad nails plenty far enough out the way when it comes time to mill out the pocket holes for the module mounts.
Do the flat packs that you are making for Leland include double the module braces and the improvements noted here?
