Quick tip for anyone interested, what I did to run wiring...

As you can tell from the pics, I placed the speakon terminals at the bottom rear of the cab which we all know presents some cosmetic challenges. Thought I'de share how I managed to get the hookup wire passed through without exposing them at back of the cabinet. I don't have a clear photo but here is a ruff scketch...

Basically I just cut a 1/2" deep groove right in to the profile edge of the back panel and run that up about 8" where it re-emerges out of site. I then run that along the back brace right into the speaker chamber to keep the horn path as clean as possible.

Rick Lee wrote: IMO, all of the "main subs" i.e. T39, T48, and T45/30 just kick butt. So does the T24 but it doesn't come up in the conversation much and isn't really the sub to build a big p.a. around. To me it's about pack space and "how low do you want to go". Obviously the "main subs" are the 39 and 48 because two of them are perfect for a typical bar band. Four is about all you would ever need. The 45 has put me in Donny's camp with him championing the T30. I like having that little extra on the bottom end- especially if there's a keyboard player in the band that sometimes plays below the bass player. ...No, I LOVE having that little extra on the bottom end- enough that when I've got a CD playing in the shop I don't get much work done because I'm listening too much to 'da bass
I like this resumé on the 'main subs'. Donny's championing is what swayed me T30. :-) I can only just about manage to drive and listen to music at the same time. Doing anything meaningful and listening to music is out - yea, I can't multi-task. But further than that I haven't heard decent bass (without head phones on) yet. I'm gonna dig out my 'old' Kings X CD's - I've wondered a few times if there's any sub-40 content there.

DanielNY Shit dude they are some seriously beautiful looking speakers you've got underway. CNC ooooohhhhh weeeeeeee - I don't know jack about them though I can only assume that some of the time you saved by not cutting the sexy braces by hand would have been gobbled up programming the machine, no doubt you measured a whole lot more than twice before you hit the go button.

Just saying is all, hell yeah the cutting process is physically easier using a CNC yet another discipline / skill needs to be learned to get the job done the hi tech way. Well done on bringing BFM wizardry into the future

Titanium, thanks for the compliments man. As much as I'de like, I can't take credit for the CNC cutting. I have a local shop transfer my .dxf drawings for CNC cutting. Not to violate Bills property by sharing his designs, I never provide a complete layout. I only have parts that are time consuming or complex cut via CNC. The horn path panels and basic shapes are still cut the old fashion way.

I've created DXF drawings for just about all of Bills designs. Any pro shop could easily transfer these with no problem. The way Bill provides radius and diameter specifics in the plans makes it all pretty simple to transfer. I had the access holes & panels for the T45 pre-cut by CNC and they lined up perfectly with the panel layout. The only cutting I leave out are the bevel cuts and not because the shop can't make the cuts but because it's time consuming, and time equals money.

I got the same response way back in 2010, when I made the original DR 250's with the deep purple melded array, which are featured on the Sales page :D

I thought about the same thing but after hauling my cabs enough times, I went with what I thought was the more comfy position on my hands from multiples angles. I also wanted to minimize the weak point where there is only 1" of space between the edge and the opening. By flipping in the other direction I would have ended up with a weaker handle or edge.

Had a chance this past weekend to give the T45 a workout. In all honesty, it was probably overkill for an end of summer BBQ in a 20x30 foot patio area of which 15x10 was partially enclosed. This is where I corner loaded the T45 and a one of my Pro SLA's, the other out on the open side of the patio for a group of about 40 ppl.

The SLA's performed as expected and the T45 while not as sensitive as the Titans, provided a warm and smoother response in my opinion. A good choice for wanting a good "FEEL" for R&B, Top 40, and Hip Hop at modest levels. Really satisfied with the form factor and size of this design and will be making the T45 my new "GO TO" sub. Just need to build 3 more....

Oh, and wanted to mention the super glue trick on the wood corners and edges works quite well. I am trying to move away from the metal corners and this seems to be an ok alternative. Guys should give it a try!
