Even with CNC, I decided to leave the access flanges out, I have added them the old fashion way. Although, in hind-site, having the access panel flanges pre-cut into one solid piece for each access panel would help in aligning the first 4 critical panels around the access hole. Great Idea Mr. Jenkins...

Curious how you will glue flanges in there. It appears that the opening is flush with the surrounding panels; there is no "empty space" to glue flanges to. That said, it's looking fantastic. I really like the curved handles at the front of the side panels. Those are CNC'd, I'm assuming? Can't wait to see what it looks like painted!

Funny, I worked at One Penn for a few years right next to Cisco. Can't wait to see how the T45 compares to the T39 and T60, hoping it's a great compromise between the two not only in sound but convenience. I know I will lose sone sensitivity but extend the low end, Plus I like the T60 shape.

I have not had the pleasure of building a T30 but I'm thinking this puppy weighs a bit more than I expected.

Not sure if you've built any of the Tubas but the inside panels line up exactly with the access opening. Access flanges are made to "Rim the access openings with ¾ inch wide plywood strips, creating mounting flanges for the access covers". The only difference in my access openning is that I rounded the corners which shouldn't cause a problem.

I've had mine going in the shop for a good while now and I love it. The T45 is a great form factor. The extension is very noticeably more than a T39 or T48 and it really cranks. It proves that there IS more low end extension in even "normal" music, i.e. the release of a damper pedal or the way a floor tom is hit and it is my favorite sub now. It just doesn't seem to run out of gas!

A customer picked up the last of his T60s today and it's nice to have the space back- they are just BIG! Yes, they effortlessly produce bass but there is no reason to go with them unless you've got to have the coverage.

Rick, how does real world war volume of the t39 and t45 compare (if youve brought them to war volume)

Haven't compared war volume side by side. I did a mostly subjective comparison with a T39 and T48 a while back and the T48 had more headroom and extension just like the charts suggest. I'm assuming the results would be the same comparing the T45.

At some point I hope to do a shootout in a real world setting now that I have a local venue with all BFM speakers. Probably not anytime soon...

IMO, all of the "main subs" i.e. T39, T48, and T45/30 just kick butt. So does the T24 but it doesn't come up in the conversation much and isn't really the sub to build a big p.a. around. To me it's about pack space and "how low do you want to go". Obviously the "main subs" are the 39 and 48 because two of them are perfect for a typical bar band. Four is about all you would ever need. The 45 has put me in Donny's camp with him championing the T30. I like having that little extra on the bottom end- especially if there's a keyboard player in the band that sometimes plays below the bass player. ...No, I LOVE having that little extra on the bottom end- enough that when I've got a CD playing in the shop I don't get much work done because I'm listening too much to 'da bass

In the same way that 4 or 8 T39s or T48s will cover a big crowd I have no doubt that 4 or 8 T45s will cover that same big crowd. Real world pack space should be similar.

Yes, I left the T60 out. If you know you're consistently gonna play big crowds, you need the extension and you've got the space it is the way to go.
