You gotta hang it somewhere while you're putting the next panel in place, right?

All done for now. Poly over black.

Not the best finish job by a long-shot, but the GF & I think it turned out okay, given the circumstances. Didn't paint the mouth because that'll always be firing into something (couch, corner, etc.).
I'm cashing in my man-card and apologizing for my rant about the finish work. Some practice in advance would've very likely prevented that fiasco.
First step on the back of the can: 1. Test finish on a piece of scrap or inconspicuous area.

Live and learn.

very pretty end result. I like the contrast of the unpainted mouth with the black.
Job wel done.

Can't get more inconspicuous than below the black finish!

The black finish looks good on there. Nice work.

We watched TRON Legacy last night using the Dolby 2.0 audio track @ -6 dB REF (ouch!

) . Even with the subwoofer channel goosed +6 dB REF, it still never got higher than 4.8V
That's wall-loaded, and firing directly into the side of our love seat.
According to my DSP, the slim design gives up ~5 dB SPL of response over the wider versions below 50Hz, and that's why I originally wanted to build two. But I am by
no means lacking performance. This single slim has all my HT needs
well-covered.

When a pin dropping onto carpet in a movie shoots through you like a nuclear blast, I think that's all the bass I need!

completely missed that line in my excitement.
i only have 13" to spare on both areas where i'd like to place my subs
i guess 2x 12" table tuba is still the way to go for me
