dj phatman, i appreciate all your input. The reason i said that you never heard of it is you seemed to not realize that it was an exterior grade material and you thought otherwise. Apologies for any misunderstandings :)
I appreciate ALL your input everybody! I definitely know that bill is a genius, and i'll never doubt that his plans are amazing. But they aren't perfect, otherwise he wouldn't change them from time to time for the better. (which is GREATLY respected being a perfectionist myself)
And Bill, thank you for taking me off the ignore list, I would really like be a part of the group that enlightened me on REAL speaker design rather that marketing :bull: haha.
So i'm gathering that someone here has actually used Cascade dampening and it failed? I couldn't find any info on this or any dampening compound, which is why it interested me so much.
Anyway, i may use duratex as i did find cheaper places to buy. Pics to come soon of my progress (been crazy with family in town for the holidays....oh yeah, Merry Christmas everyone!!!
p.s. i also decided on dr280's (melded bottoms cd horn tops) rather that otops :) a little more hard work will definitely pay off here!

"Are you a sound/acoustical engineer? Do you have any experience designing, modeling, researching, engineering, etc, a horn-loaded subwoofer enclosure? Bill has been doing this for a long time, has the degree, has the experience, and has been published. No offense, but I, personally, will bow to Bill's expertise."

Totally agree! I would never claim to know a fraction of what Bill knows in this area of expertise.

I know I shouldn't even go here, but why CD horns, not melded piezo array?

Wrong tool for the job. For your scale, if you want DRs, you want DR250s with melded piezo arrays.

+1, but only for the upper cabs. OTOH if 2512 loaded piezos in both would be fine. As far as dispersion goes it's not an issue, the DR280 woofer horn is fine to 2kHz. As far as power goes if using the 3012, which one should only do if the cabs are going to be run to the maximum SPL possible, compression drivers are the better choice as they have higher sensitivity than a flat piezo array. But they also work best bi-amped, which makes the system more complex.

I have tested some dampening material. I have some not so well glued braces on my THT, when some one sits on it it sounds tighter (the ladies love it with some dubstep since it vibrates a bit). My T60 has no such problems since I took extra time on the bracing. Second to airleaks bracing is the most important part of the build especially in a T60 since it has the longest panels after a THTLP.

If you are seriously so concerned about dampening finish 2 T60s, fill one of their chamber spacers with play sand and not the other. Then do a double blind A/B test and see if you can tell the difference. If it is worth the extra weight fill the next 2 with it and cut/fill/patch the other one.

The 9 ply BB should be all the reflection in the path you need and none of the absorption you don't want.

Didn't mean to :horse: but these were similar to questions I asked before. Everytime I think I know better it bites me in the behind.

PS No more truck bed liner finishes for me, seriously nasty fumes for weeks before the cure if complete. I also tried a tinted handicap blue for concrete, it scratches too easy. Duratex all the way from here on out!
2x T39, 1x T60, 1x THTLP, 1x AT(not built by me) 6x DR250
I need more bass

But this gal's built like a burlap bag full of bobcats
