I'm not sure what you are seeing, but it looks like there is plenty of PL squeeze out to me????

im talking about the spots i pointed out where the PL appears to be thin as well as on that brace where the PL doesnt go all the way to the end, they could cause a rattle:
Also on my T48's,i put PL all around the outside and inside edge of the baffle spacer ring and look at that brace thats right in front of the driver baffle, thats a major rattle.I had to remove my driver after assembly to add more PL to those braces because my T48 was sounding nasty, instead of boom boom boom it was twang twang twang:
Its best to glue the cab up in a manner that leaves you confident that its air tight as opposed to having to run all around the cab trying to locate an air leak.I just took my own advise with my 2nd autotuba, finished it,no air leaks, makes the building process much more fun.

I can't see well enough in those pictures to be able to tell how much squeeze out there is. You must have better eyes than I do.

thanks for the advice on adding more pl i see the point better safe than sorry. i am going to have a hard time getting to the lower braces, maybe i will enlist my buddy with little arms for that. good thing you guys caught it now my next step is run the power wires and then it is seal up time. i am very anxious to see how this thing sounds. in my little ass garage it should be crazy loud with just one. once they are both painted up i am going to clean out the garage and have a party in there. will be a super late b-day/the-subs-are-done celebration. definitely going to invite the guy who runs the local venue too "grin face"

You might not have the experience that you're hoping for! However, if you put them outside, then.....

good point, the concrete walls are not the best for acoustics. but the ceiling has exposed insulation so that should help. i guess i will just have to find out.

so today i finally got around to installing panel 11 and i noticed that the plans say early on to cut it a certain dimension for ruff cut and later when it is time to install the piece the plans say to cut it a half inch larger than the ruff cut dimension earlier. either i am seriously misreading the plans or this is a error. the larger dimension seems to be right based on the layout diagram so i will go with that but i still have to cut another piece. ugh!

That's a plan glitch from an earlier version. That panel size is not critical.

i took the sub out for a gig as it was in the last picture. it was a small gig but the bass player didn't think to bring his amp good thing i brought it. i just hooked him into a di and through the board. i just placed the sub up facing the back wall and it sounded really good. i barely had the amp turned up just enough to hear it nicely.
the gig went south when my amp for the sub started to smoke (a lot) so i just ran the rest of the night through my tops. i didn't think to just use my one amp for tops and the sub oh well.

Good to hear on the sub being barely turned up!
Is there a short somewhere for the sub?

i checked out the sub and there was no problem there. it was just a defective amp and they have sense then sent me a replacement. a few weeks ago i did a high school reunion and was able to really open them up. lets just say the subs were dancing as much as the next guy. i had to keep pushing them back near the wall.

This is caused by lack of proper bracing. Install the mouth braces per the plans, and check to make sure no other braces came loose. Also, check for any minute air leaks. Even the tiniest leak will rob SPL.
