While they were off due to my mistake yesterday, I used the back-to-main brace brace to set my main brace jig depth, instead of measuring. Worked out well.

Figured I'd set the baffle stop jig while I was at it. I've been using a 20 gauge pin nailer with 1" pins to atach the jigs. Works really well and they're even easier to remove than standard 16g brads.

Main brace, back brace, and baffle installed. Measuring, cutting, and gluing the damping material in as I go.

Went ahead and slid the main-to-baffle brace in place. Was able to shoot a couple brads in from behind at an angle, through the main brace to hold the front brace in place. But decided to keep on trucking anyway and put the other sides on instead of waiting for the PL to cure.

Sides are on. One top secured in place, getting ready for the next.

Both tops on. Starting to come together. Still have to put the bottoms on.

My God Seth, will you slow down! :conf:
I spent hours trying to figure out the safe way to cut a 27o negative angle on my OTB front panel without losing fingers or thumbs :fingers: (also, I got it completely wrong) and here you go, doing nearly a complete cabinet in the same time......
Ha ha

Jimbo was having some issues with his 3D printer. Went ahead and put these together instead. Not the most attractive thing I've ever made, but I like it.

When I cut the legs for the crossover I didn't account for the depth added by the zip ties, so I propped it up and glued it to some scrap ply then hot melt glued it where I wanted it.
It fit nicely in the rear of the cabinet, centered right under the SpeakOn jacks. Looks like I can add some damping material on the left, which I initially left uncovered to mount the crossover there.

I thought it might be a good idea to mark the positives and negatives now, so that if I ever have to open them up in the future I won't have to figure it all out again. Did the same with the Alpha 6 wiring. Also, I did not solder these. I'm a big fan of crimping when it's sufficient. And it's completely sufficient here. IMO

Here's one all buttoned up, looking good, and sounding pretty darn nice. Will finish the other one up tomorrow and give the pair a listen.

Looking great!
Is there an option for 3 piezo's/cab in the 2 x 6?

No. Just 2x2, 4x4, 6x4

Oh! My older plans have a 6 piezo option...

Pretty sure that's what Jim meant by 6x4. If there was a 3 piezo option in the plans for the 2x cab, that's what I'd have chosen. That said, in the little bit of relatively low level listening I did, two tweeters doesn't sound lacking at all. I'm a little astonished at their output, how well they blend in, and how well they sound. Speaking about the tweeters, but the whole speaker cab too.

I did construct the cabs mirror imaged, so when one is up-ended and stacked on the other the tweeters are close together, hopefully retaining most of the line array benefits when configured that way.

I'll put a little EQ and power to them tomorrow afternoon and give you guys my impression.

What are your guys' thoughts on grills for these? I'd like something metal for it's protective qualities, but it would also be nice to not easily see the drivers through the grill. How would you go about it? Cloth over metal, cloth under metal, foam... ?

If you use a metal grill, put the A/C foam behind it. That's the best look for metal. The other option is to do a compression fit grill using a frame and grill cloth....like on a guitar amp. If you are hauling them to gigs, then I'd probably go with metal. If they stay at home, the grill cloth is fine...

There's no three tweeter option because you can't wire three tweeters series/parallel.

I'm guessing there's a reason three in series would be of no advantage? I have zero grasp on the concept of them being capacitive loads and the effect of wiring them differently. Physically, it's possible to wire 3 series/parallel with one short leg and in the world of ohms I know the result. In the world of capacitance... duhhhhhhhh ummmmm :noob:
