PVC cement primer may be clear or colored. The advantage to colored is you can see on PVC pipe where it's been applied, so you don't miss a spot. The same applies to the cement. Colored cement is usually orange.

CPVC plumbing has to have primer. I was told the purple allows home inspectors to visually verify plumbing connections were correctly assembled. Big box stores often sell little packs of primer and cement for pretty cheap. Everytime I've bought a larger cement, it always goes bad.

Re: Otop Jarray build x 4
Got the basic boxes assembled this morning. My pin nailer made it pretty easy, although I still get pl all over myself. Next to trim the height of my baffles to fit, as I made them a little tall not knowing exactly how close the boxes would be to the plans. And I don't want to mess around adding little strips like I had to do with the sides.

Re: Otop Jarray build x 4
A little more progress. Got the middle braces installed tonight. I'm happy with the way I left the full length of the triangle as it's made the sides super stiff. Same with the woofer spacer running the full width of the baffle Had to do a little torquing to get the boxes nice and square before gluing and pinning, but they seem pretty straight now. Hope to get a bit further this weekend since I'll be traveling a good chunk of this month.

Re: Otop Jarray build x 4
Made my rear side and top braces tonight. Hope to cut the bendy horn sheathes tomorrow and start gluing them in. Checked my stock of panel mount neutrik speak on jacks and don't have enough so ordered 8 of the round plate type from Amazon the otops. The panel ones will go on the next pair of tubas and a amp rack panel some day. Empty boxes right now weigh 11.5 lbs. Hoping to come in under 30 when complete.

Re: Otop Jarray build x 4
Only enough clamps to do one at a time. Just as well, as the sheaths seem to have a little gap to the braces after I got them all clamped down. Crud. I trust the PL will expand enough to take up the space. If not, I suppose I can put some PL from the backside after they cure. The other 6 sheaths are ratchet strapped around a log to get some pre-bend into them so they will lay down easier. I made some spacers to hold the narrow ends in place by the baffle rather than try to nail/clamp them. Seems to be working okay. The blue and red clamp combo is attempting to pull a slight bend out of the top panel.

Re: Otop Jarray build x 4
You also may notice I didn't cut the handle ports or drill the holes for the tee-nuts. Not an oversight. I was concerned that if the cabinets came out a little wonky, they wouldn't look right when clamped into an array. Once all the sheaths are on and trimmed, I have a template I can place on the side and get the 4 holes all in exact same spot. Actually probably was an unnecessary adventure as the cabinets seem to be more square than my skills warranted - Yay!
