I would just buy two more drivers when you can. I'd imagine it's a pain to swap them between cabs.

Yea but these cabs wont match those, different style handles and the middle will be cut out etc. I used allen heads so its easy to pull them out!
Before Fitzmaurice, big bass could only be had with just a hook and a nightcrawler.

Re: 4 Dual T60s!
Day 3, didn't get a whole lot done but I got enough done! I did something a bit different from the plans again, It worked out really nice so I thought I'd share. in the plans you are supposed to Put panel 6 in first, then put the braces in. well my braces I cut at the same time by laying 3 pieces of ply on top of eachother. So they are exactly the same size. I put them on panel 3, toenailed them in, then put panel 6 on, and I tell you its wayy better. the first two i did the recommended way and it is pretty sloppy
Im in a rush so I'll make this quick, but here is my stencil for my handles, I will route them out of this pattern. yay or nay?

That's how I do them too. The last subs I built I used pocket screws on the braces and that made it better/easier still.DJ Higgumz wrote:Day 3, didn't get a whole lot done but I got enough done! Re: 4 Dual T60s!
Day 4. Made a lot of headway, would have made more if making my router stencil for the handles wasn't such a task. took me 4 hours to get it right. I got all the way to the top panel on, and I did go all the way to the front, as honestly everyone should. I went the way the plans suggested with my previous build, but its a dirt and dust collector, and holds water (no room under tent for them). I also think it looks unfinished that way, and the handles aren't ergonomic that way. You do save 10" of wood that way, however. I digress. Ahead of me now I just have the backs, refractors, 3 sets of braces (plus side bracing) and the bottom and the side. Oh and I am not cutting out an access panel on the other side, I can reach around the back of the farthest driver through the first one
Looks cleaner and simpler build. 2" SHCS are THE only way to mount drivers for this reason. I used 10-32

Are you going to paint behind those handles before inserting the corner piece?

Re: 4 Dual T60s!
I would, but I am painting them at a different location. Most likely going to spray a base coat of regular paint, then roll on Duratex. There's no way I am rolling the mouths on all 4!

Re: 4 Dual T60s!
Day 5.... I built an autotuba in a day lets see if I can build 4 full size T60s in a week. Pix, gonna keep it short extremely tired.

This is the most important handle you could install in a T60. Other cut outs are for casters.

Stop when you're tired. Period. It's a good way to get hurt, or make a major mistake. My rule in the shop is one mistake, press on, two big mistakes, pack up. It's always a sign of being to tired to do a correct job.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

Higgz you're powering my man. I too like the full sized top panel. You can never have to many hand holds on a T60 they're are just flat out big and awkward.
Enjoy the rest of your build

I never use a tablesaw. All circular and routers. Tablesaws take too long
. The last 3 hours were assembly, only danger is the brad nailer. No progress today, i needed to wait a full day for curing. I need to sand down and form pl so it needs to be dry dry.

Re: 4 Dual T60s!
Does anyone have any tips to scrape squeeze-out? I should have edged the squeeze-out when it was wet for the mouth braces
it's really hard to get out, even with the side off. I'm using a stiff chisel and hammer, going with the bead, against the bead and it's just taking forever.

Re: 4 Dual T60s!
I use a putty knife that's sharpened some. Rarely is a hammer needed. If it's really tough, use a utility knife to score along the edges, then scrape.
