Thats a big room. I said 4 meters, but its likely he was much farther away from the wall loaded subs, as much as 8 meters lol.

Big room, sounds solid though! Nice work.
...what's with the DJs sat down though?

lol, thank you 88h88! The DJs don't think the old man knows what he is talking about. They look at me like I am crazy when I tell them that sitting in a chair and hiding behind a computer doesn't do much to energize the crowd. I haven't DJed in over two decades, but some things don't change. This is not a shy kid, he has no problem singing and playing guitar in front of a crowd. I'll be passing your comment along.

I didn't want to say anything harsh just in case there was a medical reason but as that doesn't seem to be the case then tell him if it looks like the DJ isn't into the music then why should the crowd be into it? It's one thing to be stood behind a screen hiding and not moving but it's quite another to be sat down lazily... It looks like you can't be bothered. I'm not suggesting going out and pulling a Tiesto Jesus pose but you should be at least bopping in time with the music, if nothing else it keeps you on point for beatmatching.

+1 (trying to help with the consensus on here so you can show him this post!)

I bought this and I love it. I stand for my DJ gigs, and this goes to counter-height (36"), so I don't have to bend over all night as I adjust the playlist. I pinned a black sheet to fit over mine, but I'm planning on custom tailoring (or getting the wife to help) some stretchy fabric so I don't have wrinkles.

Okay, comments delivered. I think the input coming from others was better accepted. Thanks to everyone.
Gauss, great suggestion on the Sam's Club table. Seems like the perfect solution and easy on our tight pack space. Too bad there isn't an off-the-self table cover available. Might be able to modify one like this:

I got these in black and white. A bit more than the Amazon one, but very nice and still affordable.

I have a DB app on my iPhone....
I looked at 110db - Serious hearing damage (1hrs) - so that impressed me....
Then someone suggested 130db...... Jet take off (100m)
Ok.... The wife has asked me, why do i want to build these speakers....
Cant educate pork.....

I see we DJ's zoomed in like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,he's not sitting down on the job is he ? Well i gotta add my 2 cents.
I'm 50 years old and when i DJ i stand up all night except when i play slow songs, thats my chance to sit down. But it takes away from the party energy,ESPECIALLY when you have a buddy with you and you and him are having a conversation but you aren't engaging the crowd. As someone said, you dont have to do a Tiesto or go fist pumping mad but i never could understand trying to get someone to get up and go dance by sitting down.

When I'm playing at a paid party, I'm so stoked about making a buck doing what I love that I can't help but bust out some moves. Especially when the brief is to play music that I actually froth over
I do have a massive hyperactive side though, I dance whilst driving when a banger comes on!!!!!

I don't even consider myself a DJ, I can and have played in clubs but it's more a hobby and you'd never catch me sat down while I'm playing. The only time I'm not at least nodding along with a track is when I'm taking a drink or saying a quick hello to friends that come to the booth.
On occasion there's a couch behind the decks for people to come and chill out on in between bouts of dancing but I've never sat down on it... It's etiquette!

We did obtain one of the counter-height tables that Gauss recommended. I think it will work better ...and no chairs
