Building a 24" wide t48 with the Ande 15" driver, this thing is built like a tank and also weighs a ton

Be super keen to read how these T48s sound. We are planning to do a similar build soon, been looking at all the recommended driver options from O/S and how to ship em to Australia. You may well have saved us massive headaches and possibly a fair bit of cash.

Please take lots of photos!

Also, have you had a chance to fire up the OTOPs?

How do they sound? What are you driving them with?

Tidy build & skills on the driver find... I have read about the pricing of the recommended drivers in Oz  so finding a compatible driver may well get a few more builds off the ground down under.

The otop's are sounding great so far, clean and super loud. Still playing with the eq though as they can sound a bit harsh but I am looking forward to hearing how they sound with the titan. I am powering with a scorpion amp that I don't know much about but its probably a couple hundred watts at best and powers them with ease. I'll try get a few photos of the build.

A month later... any progress on the T48?
Really curious as to how the Ande driver performs - for $150 it could be just what us Australian builders need

Progress has been slow but I'm up to the point where I'm planning to attach the side today. I'll only be able to test it next week but at least that will give the PL a good chance to cure. Did some testing on my amp and it only outputs 25v (unloaded) before hitting the red so looks like I'll be needing an upgrade soon. I went with the more expensive $200 Ande driver, keen to hear how it sounds.

looking good.

we also went with the Ande 1560. just arrived this week, pretty exciting opening the boxes. they are big. had a chance to run then in for a few hours on sine a 50hz. they we cruising but you can tell they will puch a lot of air.

we are a little behind where you are. panels for four 24" T48s all cut and just doing the driver anchors now.

our box of PL premium got lost in the warehouse. (allied pickfords fail) so waiting on the glue to arrive has set us behind schedule a little.

hopefully we should be able to motor soon though.

keep reporting in!

Got the cab up to usable status, still need to install castors then do the finishing work. Very impressed with the way it sounds so far and will definitely be building more. Sounds very smooth and powerful and seems to be fairly flat right down to 30hz. Still hits the lows well with the 24db 40hz high pass, comparable to my TTLS but way louder :D. Will definitely need an amp upgrade soon so I can run this thing to its full potential without worrying about clipping. Can't wait to hear a couple of these v-plated :hyper:. Only downside is the cab is heavy with this driver.

excellent! can't wait to get 2 of our 4 up and running! should be within the fortnight :hyper:

what are you limiting them with? what voltage are you giving them? amp?

keep checking in

Using a dbx driverack for all the processing and an amp that does 25v per side one for the titan and the other otops in parallel. I will probably try limit at 25v for now to prevent the amp from clipping. I've been running it instead of my slim tht for a test and it sounds great for music in a small room, just so effortless and clean.

An update on my system. Have been trying out a 3 way configuration with a 2370a/2426h combo with xover at 1.2khz. Working well.
