Greetings,
Some long over due pics of a pair of 24's in the works...(hoping i did this correctly with a link to Photo bucket below).

I'm in the process of implementing these with a pair of Beta/Piezo, coaxials. Recently purchased an Omni mic and Mr. Floyd E. Toole's book "Sound Reproduction Loudspeakers and Rooms". Chapter 13 of the book has been my focus which addresses sub woofers and rooms. It's been interesting taking early measurements and working to understanding of whats happening in the room.

I will post some additional pics of the install soon.
Kindest,
Marko

Despite what the Duratex folks might say my own experience in using drywall mud for finishing prior to coating with Duratex was quite unsccessfull . With some normal handling and scraping wear the Duratex came off leaving the white mud underneath showing. Ihad to sand off moat of the cabinets (luckily only wedgehorns) and reapply Duratex.
To be fair, I had gone for a really smooth surface and skinned large areas with mud so just doing the odd ding may work fine just don't try anything larger than a nail hole and never on an edge that will take abuse.
2X Tuba 24 HL10c
2X Omni 12
2X DR 250
Omni 10
6X Wedgehorn 6
2X Jack 10

+1 to CBIERN. Drywall mud also doesn't like to be rolled or brushed with wet paint. More that a stroke or two, and it can and will roll right off the top. Using a proper primer that soaks in and stabilizes (seals) it is important. Honestly, regular latex paint isn't the best at that kind of thing. It works, but using a proper primer is a lot better.

Note that I was not one of them.
I don't tape drywall with bondo either.
To get rid of grain with softwood plywood I'd use a wood filler like Durhams, applied with drywall knives using the same technique as taping drywall, just not the same material. I wouldn't attempt it if you're not an experienced drywaller, meaning that you know how to get a perfect result with no sanding.

i've made the switch from bondo to durhams a couple months ago. love the lack of smell. its similar in workability to bondo, bit less durable, and you never run out of water to mix it with.
