The only flaw in my eyes: Square neutrik for round holes...

Could be just envy though...

You stole my dream! haha, someday I'll have a desert part, someday. AMAZING BUILD by the way.

*How wide are these built? They appear to be in the 20 inch range but I can't tell for sure.

Thanks for the great comments guys! We had a lot of fun doing this. And for the first time I understand the old timers on this site going on about their backs ... I'm still aching from all the moving! Also still smiling!
88h88 wrote:Stupidly clean build, absolutely gorgeous. Do I spy the shop soundsystem in the back of the second pic? Also your friend's white T60s look great, the coloured mouth really makes them pop though no horizontal brace??
Ha ha yes. I can't work without bass. That was my "prototype". I have a policy to make something first for myself before I sell to others so I can get the wrinkles out of the build process. Eventually I hope to have a full BFM collection!

The orange T60's had a horizontal brace further in... but imo they could do with more bracing for sure.
sine143 wrote:in home use... doubt they have many people standing on them. also looks like they have the horizontal braces farther down the horn, just not in the very mouth.
They did perfectly well. Props to the T60 design.

Also, as soon as we started playing test tones a tarantula as big as your hand appeared about 20 feet out and literally ran into one of the orange T60's and disappeared up into the horn! My T60 is still outside my house. Not sure what to do about that

Fabulous work, great result.
Said the man with the most awesome workshop here!!!
escapemcp wrote:V. Jealous... not so much of the beautiful tubas you have created immaculately, but of that space in the desert for a party. Here in the uk it is so hard to find a spot which is just a mile away from any house. Looks like you are miles from anywhere there... and i bet you get nice weather as well just to really rub it in!!! :)
Yes. We live in the high desert. Every weekend there are new parties just miles from my house. Check here for the weather!

Yep, you are right of course Bas. I bought a load of the square connectors... but then realized you can see daylight through them. I decided to use them up where they don't need to be sealed... and co-incidentally I do have a load of the round ones you pictured in stock for the next project :D

I see you are in California. I'll PM you with our next party details.

They are all standard Lab15, 27 inch wide... except for my shop mule (pictured in the middle) which is 28 inches wide.

Here's a pic he sent me... I'm sure he won't mind me sharing here.

He's one of these guys who seems to make everything look really cool and arty... where as I only seem to be able to deal with straight lines in one color. He has talent for sure.

Next time I'm down in San Luis Obispo which will be mid to late August I'll have a finished T60, or two..., (hopefully) so maybe I'll be able to add something to the party :).

1st rate tool and workshop envy. Lovely stuff.

Send some giant Pepsis wasps up your T60 - theyll see the spider off.

Ha. Funny you should say that as I also do some propane art. There was talk of building a T60 that shoots flames. Or maybe we should just burn one and see how long it takes to die!

Here is me (bottom right) "poofing" the bar we built.

Well now.

I was just vacuuming the crap & sand out of my cab and doing a clean up ... there are cob webs in my T60

 fuckety fuck fuck fuck

This is one I was talking about earlier. Someone posted it on Facebook. I had hoped they liked the orange and would stay out of the black ones.

Thats easily 3 inches across!

If you ever decide that the shop T60 is ready to retire throw it up on the sale forum!
