Thank you for the input. I am listening the advice and saving dollars for wood and other stuff for the build now. The bash plate thet Drey has do really seem appealing , I need to check those out!!

I would avoid things like that in a pro sub myself. Plate amps often have problems cooling in the sun and sub power requirements are often heavy. Seen plenty of plate amps go out on powered speakers which leaves your sub inoperable until you can repair/replace. May take a lot of work if you have to replace with a different model that doesn't fit in the same opening. Sacrificing airtightness on a sub design that's intolerant of leaks is also a possible problem.

Still need to get them outside and tweak a bit more, but I've been quite happy with the results this far. Frequency response off axis is much smoother vs the melded and the hole in the mids that develops where the 12" starts beaming. Don't know though, the newer phase plug design probably does better there.

I believe the OP was referring to an outboard plate amp/case..

That eliminates concern about sealing, but makes a plate amp for pro use even less sensible IMO unless you just had a big plate amp laying around.

get a processor like the driverack or behringer and a used 150$ amp off of craigslist. it saves alot of rackspace and weight in the longrun

I found a nice dbx driverack processor in mint cond. for $300. but I have found all kimds of stuff on craigslist like compressors and limiters and even found 2 ev xeq3 for $48. each just do not know what I need. I found my wood at Imeca today for $20 pr sheet of 1/2 birch and $30 pr sheet sealed with clear on 1 side. I am pouring a concrete slap behind the house this coming friday so the I will go get the wood for my titans. 3/4 was $40 for a sheet but that is overkill.

That's a pretty good price. It makes me wonder if it has a very thin outer veneer on it because real BB doesn't. Thin venner is no good, ie, it will pull away. Also, make sure that the BB is 7 ply.

All the layers were of equal thikness . I looked really good at it and the3/4 was 7 layers. What does anyone think about the dbx rack processor? Is it a crossover, eq or should i even ask?

Ask dbx driveracks and behringer dcx2496 are the ubiquitous speaker processors recommended and standard equipment to properly process (crossover,eq,limiter) the signals for bf pro cabs.

I would get an all in one like above, because if you have separate ones that increases signal distortion and cable failure

So really the dbx driverack pa processor would do everything for me.
