I was at HD last night picking up sheetrock and other paneling. 7/16 OSB sure is cheap, even compared to underlayment. Maybe it would work for 4x8 stage panels with studs underneath at 16" or maybe 12" on center.

The stage I described was built out of OSB.

OSB plus Shipping pallets (find at the back of your least favorite supermarket). + a ton of cinderblocks.

What's the advantage of using pallets underneath instead of a 2x4 frame? Easier to build?

Matt,
Drop me a PM and I can send you some plans for a portable stage. I did 3 x 6 panels as that is a good size for a one man setup. Stage height is up to you. I have 18", 32", and 48" heights and all have been extremely solid.

cost effectivness, ease of breakdown (burn it etc). allows you to make 1 time stages without worrying about hauling or purchasing materials.
