What was the last auto project?
I don't even remember. I'd guess about 8-10 years since the last auto project.

Thought you might need some encouragement

Thanks!

Donny
Technically it should be ok to mix them, the 3012LF and LAB 12 in parallel should average a bit over 4 ohm. More current would flow to the LAB because of it's lower impedance, which may or may not make it match well with the 3012LF. Paralleling the like pairs on a channel each would allow you to adjust their volumes to match - or crank one pair more if the situation warrants

I suspect that the LAB will require more power than the 3012LF to reach the same volume.

Moot. Amplifiers are voltage sources, not power sources. They'll deliver the same voltage into a Lab or 3012LF. The Lab has a bit less sensitivity than the 3012, but that's offset by its lower impedance, so they end up very close.

Yeah, that's what I meant to say ;-)

Today is my last day at my "day job" before the holidays, so I'll be off from that until January 3. Certainly (heavy sarcasm here) I'll be able to find time to get this project moving in the midst of Honey-Do lists  . My tools and BB have been waiting on me patiently now a quite a little while now. My happy couple of T30's really needs to be a family of four ASAP.

Merry Christmas and Happy Building Donny, I'm pretty keen to hear all about how much they decimate eardrums everywhere. You have some serious self control.... I would have been sneaking out to the operating theatre the minute my missus dozed off, probably with a stash of energy drinks to keep the heart going at work the next day though

Thanks man...its been *extremely* slow going. I really thought I would have had the pair done by now, but not even close. I can take my time on this pair though. My New Year's gig is small, so I won't need them for that and my next job probably won't be until Valentine's...they could be useful for that because that's been a teen dance the past couple of years.

How's it going Donny? Making progress?

I made some headway over the weekend with my 2 18x30s. I've just installed the cab bottoms (I'm thinking that is part #8?), but things have slowed down since I got to the parts that need 2 braces each (3 parts to cut and fit instead of 1). And beginning with this part I'm cutting handles too, so a lot of operations for each additional piece added. I'll be lucky to finish them by next weekend, but as long as I'm making progress I guess it takes as long as it takes.

At a stand still at the moment as we're in the middle of a move. I thought for sure we would have *been* there by now. The shop is at the new place and everything is there still waiting on me. Really looking forward to finally getting over there.

Well, moving will definitely take up some time. Here's hoping you get through it quickly and still have energy left over for the build.

Hmmm...wonder if I can get the second pair done over three weekends? Playing a big room on 2-11 for Valentine's Dance.

I have a question about the Lab12 modification for the T30's. Wouldn't it be good to install the reducers as soon as I get the inner most chamber panels in place? I figure I could get fasteners to them easier at that point. Thoughts?

I think you're right, Donny. That's what I would do.
