I haven't pushed them too hard but at about 20v peaks during real music playback I was getting 124db at one's mouth and 120db at the driver seat.

Can't you still face them both to the back still? The horn mouths won't be lined up, but I would suspect that would matter even less than they way you have them pictured above.
The speakon connector sticks out a few inches so it obviously needs to be flipped. It is also off-center in such a way that the only way it will fit without hitting the amplifier shelf is mouth facing up or against the back of the seat.
I needed to make the other with the access cover on the opposite side (or at least put the speakon through the opposite wall) and this all would have been avoided.

ah, now I see. Bummer. You used Speakon? I've never heard of that used in car audio.
I've been planning to build a TAT for my van now that I finally found a wood shop I can work in, unfortunately the van needs a new engine now so I have to hold off. I got the TB driver for it already and everything...

Yea, once I heard it was an airtight audio connector I was sold! I've glued/caulked/siliconed so many spring loaded connectors I can't even count them anymore.
They are real nice sounding as well as loud. I had a friend come over and give them a listen and he said they were probably a little louder than one of his friends 4x 15" inchers. Needless to say they sound better too.
I got a text from him later that night after he drove home... "Thanks for ruining my subs for me..." (He's got 4 8"s with an amp and capacitor)
