Eventually.

at least i've got the rig together enough to start earning some $ with some smaller gigs.

Awesome man, I run two of the exact same sized tubas on an RMX 2450. And they sound killer. Definitely get the limiter setting right according to the plans, because I've had other DJs fry them, sadly. I also cross them over at 70 hz, and it sounds a lot cleaner than 90 or 100. I'm running EV dual 15 tops though, so I'm not sure how it would sound with you're particular tops.

Awesome start. I can attest to the 2450 being a great (and heavy) amp to push the T36s with. I'll run all 4 of mine off one 2450 without any problems. Glad to see you got the DCX2496. Make sure you get the limiter set right. When it's working properly you should be able to pump a 60hz sine wave into the DCX as loud as you want and only get 60 Volts off the back of the amplifier.

Just wait until you get a chance to hook up both T36s and V-plate them into a corner.

Also - FYI, since the last time I checked this info wasn't on the forum - According to Bill, set the HPF no lower than 30 hz for one, for 2 or more clustered together you can go as low as 25hz.

And a big +1 on ditching the Yamahas and stepping up to DR250s. I was using Peavey SP5s as my tops (very close to the Yamahas) before I built my DRs, and the difference is night and day. I crossover around 93 hz now, and everything sounds great.

I don't have the page with the stacked charts, but here's the chart from the sales page.

Bill - if you still have the charts from the SPL thread that compares the various T36 configurations (Vertical, Horizontal, stacked, etc.) I'd love to have them...

brought it out + 2 tops for a small show 2 weeks ago. the placement was probably the 2nd or 3rd best spot, the best location was taken up by the houses 2 powered JBL subs, which i didn't even use. the tuba did a fine job of providing better sound than the house subs normally have. didn't clip the channel i was running it off of all night.

it sucks that times are so hard financially right now. i am foaming at the mouth to get #2. (and after, 3/4)

Yup T36s sure can Rock. Very ful rich and very Fat bottom end that also fast and responsive. No one note wonder for sure. May technically be obsolete but I think Bill should just include them in the T60 plans just in case someone likes that form better.

The T60 above is ~2 cu ft smaller but has 2-3db greater sensitivity <50hz, where it counts. So, it's not just form factor.

my sub has been killing it in 2 smaller (less than 100 cap) venues. had house music legend terry mullan play on my rig. also, had some moombahton/dubstep cats give it a real workout.

for one show, I was able to use a pair of mackie 15" 3 way tops (the heavy duty ones with better low end) and the sub really shines when i give it only 30hz-80hz and could let the tops handle the rest.

i like being able to keep the highs and mids CLEAR, usually i end up having the level for my tops much lower than the level for the sub. that's electronic music events though.
