I'll put a grand on Leland and his trusty table saw.

Funny, I have yet to find anything that I could do on my tablesaw that I couldn't do with my EZ stuff. Maybe all of our Festool/EZ back and forth earlier in this thread has been resolved by this purchase.

That may be true for Festool. Not true for EZ. With my EZ-One repetitive cuts are exactly that, repetitive. And I don't need a $1700+ hotdog proof saw blade destroyer to work safely.
Race ya for production work. Run what ya brung.
I told myself I would stay out of this conversation - but as an owner of an EZ1 PB, TS55 and tablesaw(though nothing as elaborate as Leland's) just felt I would add my $.02.

There is no doubt in my mind Leland would win - but even if I could justify such a saw(I can't) not sure I'd be willing to give up the shop real-estate. If you are in production mode, well, that's an entirely different story.

Also not going to argue that a good tablesaw would be stay in square better - but you can get repeatable cuts with the EZ1 and Festool

Being a woodworking hobbyist - I use the tool that I feel safest and enjoy the most.

The one I enjoy most is the EZ1 closely followed by the Festool.(could change if I had the MFT - but think I would still prefer the EZ track lift/clamping mechanism)

The one I use most is the Festool closely followed by the EZ1.(could change if/when Dino releases a saw that will do bevels)

Each has its pros and cons.

I have both the EZ and a TS.

I only use the TS for long rips (60"+) and angles.

Otherwise the EZ is faster. Especially the small stuff. (I have the bridge though on a custom table. Without the bridge it wouldn't be faster.)

Would I go 100% one way or the other? Never.

Irrelevant. We aren't talking production work in this thread. You may be right, you may be wrong.

All in fun. If I hadn't come up with my new shop last year I'd have had one for ripping up full panels. As it is now I have enough room to use a table saw with outfeed tables for full panels.

I know, I was a bit more short than I intended in my reply and realized it later last night. No offense meant or taken.

I do think though that given the same amount of experience and time to develop jigs and such that a couple of EZ-Ones could keep up with an equal number of tablesaws. One EZ-One run by an amateur who has built five or ten cabs would obviously stand zero chance in a race against an experienced authorized builder with a shop full of jigs and a tablesaw.

I was thinking we should have a BFM get together and we could have a table saw vs track saw build off :loler:

Ya shes got a big footprint but doesn't really need an out feed table really .. definite worth the space tho makes handling the large pieces effortless but very accurate.
