Order from LeLand. :)

I am in Australia and the shipping to me was cheaper than ordering anything from anyone here. Just a thought.

+1. He has a monopoly and is milking it for all it's worth. I contacted him in an effort to find a source for our members in Oz for Eminence at reasonable prices, he's not interested. He tried to justify his price gouging with the usual 'we have special circumstances, tariffs, shipping' BS. I pointed out that Great Britain has the exact same issues, yet prices for Eminence in Australia are over twice those in Jolly Olde England. I never heard from him again.

If you've got friends stateside have them get your stuff and mail it to you.

OP was enquiring about New Zealand. Hopefully Leland is still servicing this side of the ditch.

Nope. I am very restricted on where I can ship drivers overseas. There are also some shipping regulations for magnetic material I was not aware of that make air difficult also. All I can tell my overseas customers is to contact me on a case by case basis. But the rule of thumb is if there's an Eminence distributor to cover your area, I cannot ship there. I will clear any order for overseas with Eminence first.

You're right, what he told you is just absolute :bull: :bull: :bull:

But he's an absolute dick-head behaving like that. He will just alienate everyone against Eminence and it's better to have a little of something ( in the way of margin ) than have a lot of nothing.

I bet if he was relying solely on the Eminence agency for his income he'd be playing a different tune, but I doubt he does and represents about 20 or 30 other brands of stuff.

Same rules apply here. There is a local NZ Eminence distributor. He does not stock any of the recommended drivers that are used in the most popular cabs, let alone the less popular. You have to indent them, in quantities, at a price over twice to thrice what we were able to get them from Leland and wait a friggin' long time.

The IATA shipping rules on magnets make it dammed difficult too.

I can see why Leland would not want to bother.

So, do what I do and be-friend an American  If you are a bass player, you'll find many a willing hand

OR you could use some US buying houses;

http://www.myus.com/ - shipping method preferred Fedex and DHL

http://www.shipito.com/ - shipping method preferred USPS only

I don't know if this is the distributor or a reseller but check out this clown
http://www.essentialaudio.com.au/conten ... /d184.html
to convert into american dollars multiply by 0.9
to be fair stock would have been bought when the A$ was lower, but still, $500 for a 3012LF???

and international cargo is in severe crisis, as an example, I got a quote for a 20' container, from Europe to Australia for US$1800, and 40' for US$2800
so shipping cost per item would be about a dollar

He's a reseller, his prices are based on what the distributor charges him. Based on those prices I figure the distributor is taking at least three times the profit he's entitled to. You can't get away with that in the US, where the majority of resellers deal directly with Eminence and there's healthy competition.

No, sorry. The only way around it that I can use is finished cabs. That's an oem product, and is not covered by my agreement.
