As the Police paid me a visit last week for excessive bass from my single THT, You running two of yours in a house makes me smile. Keep em pounding

I think this an opportunity for a good experiment Wi.

If you have access to one, bring a digital true-RMS multimeter with you to the event. After you get your system set up and dialed in for the night....and it's cranking what you, the audience, and venue owner think is F'n crazy loud, break out the multimeter and measure the AC voltage across the amp's terminals.

Speculations aside, I'd like to know what your THT's are dining on, for real. I'm sure some other folks here are curious too.

I went to a show tonight with an Ashly FET-500, Peavy and QSC amps, 2 dual 18 yammy cabs, and dual 15 and CD tops. Why this seems louder and better than my rig, I can only guess... I blame it on shoddy workmanship or something.

More boom and sizzle? Sounds like you might prefer a little more harmonic distortion in your system.

I tested the bins in my front room to pick which ones I wanted to take tonight. Since I had it all set up, I grabbed the multimeter and went for it.

I hooked up 2 THTs to one FTX-2001, presenting a 5 ohm mono load.

keep in mind thatwhen you're measuring the resistance of a speaker with a multimeter, you're doing just that, measuring the resistance of the voicecoil, the load however
is represented by the impedance, which is a little harder to determine.
