Youtube vid of the band using DR200 & T39's

#1 Post by Chris_Allen »

I missed this gig as it was lunchtime on a Sunday and I was already booked elsewhere.

I was able to do the setup and mix before I had to leave.

Anne is stood on the T39's (she's only small!), DR200's either side. Kick, guitar, bass and keyboard are all running through the behringer DDX3216 on the right:

Built:
6xDR200, 2xT39, 2xT48, 2xJack110, 1xOmni10.5, 1xAutotuba, 1xT18, 1xSLA Pro, 1xW8, 1xW10

Those 200's do have a curved front. I have no idea who recorded the video or what it was recorded with. However, I have looked at some of there other vids and assuming it is the same recording device, you can really hear the difference in quality.

I am still on the learning phases of my life  I was told by someone that "you can not put the mains behind the line of the front mics." Is this a true thing?
I could see you not using monitors with that kind of set up.

In the UK, so many pubs have limited space and were not designed for bands, so positioning of speakers is not always ideal. You aren't supposed to do it, but with careful EQ'ing, you can get away with it - it also means that you don't need a monitor!

The bottom cab was unplugged and there was a fair amount during the sound check but I wasn't at the gig so so can't really say. Doesn't sound like much as you can't really hear it but that all depends on the quality of the recording mic.

The more I listen to it, the worse it sounds
