Last night I got to mix 6 very different bands through a pair of 28" T-39 and one OT112 per side. The T-39's I stood upright in a V facing into a corner. I had a high school age teenagers doing original rock, an R&B duo with pre-recorded backing tracks, a rap group with pre-recorded tracks, a very good mature blues group, a full-tilt screaming death metal band, and pop cover band.
I've never had so many compliments in one night. The bass simply enveloped you, and the vocals were crystal clear. The overall sound was incredibly balanced. The speakers sounded great from subtle and quiet to stupidly loud. And I mean OMG loud. I really can't quite imagine ever having a need to be louder indoors, and I wasn't even close to the limiters.
At the end of the night and after a little reflection I recalled the wisdom of some on this board: There simply is no substitute for performance. I am grateful that I didn't try and cut corners and instead just followed the plans, used the recomended parts and drivers, and performed the subsequent testing and eq/crossover/limiting. Probably the best time/money investment I've made.
Thanks Bill and all who contribute the this incredible resource.

Re: T-39 and OT12's from the other side of the board
It's amazing just how loud a pair of OT112's get indoors, well even outdoors though I usually run at least a pair outdoors just in case.
