3/8" Round on 1/2" ply

#1 Post by djtecthreat »

Getting to where I have to start finishing my 8x Otop12's. I need to do a 3/8" round so the Penn corners will fit correctly, how do I do a 3/8" round on the front area and the access panel area when the bearing sits lower than the board? I realize I can brad nail a piece of scrap in there, but my concern is that it may flex or move causing the round to be uneven.

Any tips?

Clamp a straight edge to the top and bottom of the box to guide the router along.

That straight edged looks a bit flimsy!

Genius!! Here I am thinking I have to cut a piece to fit in side to openings of the box with angles and all (dumb). I have a couple chunks of aluminum stock that I use as guide boards and straight edges, these will work perfect.

Thanks!!

Aw, shucks, it was nothing, (blushing) Thank you, ... but actually, I may have seen that idea used somewhere.

Haha, nah this is some 2"x2" stock that I used to build a go-cart a couple years ago, it's solid stuff! Although I could use some of that steel stock you have there!
