RTA/EQ failures need suggestions

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

Possible.
But until the bad caps are definitively ruled out by ESR meter or replacement, I'd bet on the caps being the culprit.
Throw in lack of ventilation and 85C rated caps, and your ripe for the bug.

Q: do these machines fail after some time in service?
Cheap caps take time to boil until they burst.

In my computer service business, I see no end of bad caps in system boards and routers.
The machines still run, but are unstable, BSOD, won't boot, reboot sporadically, and so forth.
Combine these with a BESTEC 250w power supply and you have Electronic Death waiting to happen.

If the OP has the Behringer board out of the machine, that tells me it is ultra easy to remove and recap.
My biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my toys for what I said I paid for them.

The processor board is easy enough to remove but the IO board is more of a pain (many many screws) but it's very straight forward stuff. There's lots of room inside that little box.

So these TEC caps, have you had experience with them? They are junk because they fail early, or are unreliable / inconsistent? I'd hate to go on cap-pull-&-check rampage for this ... I count 42 (magic number) and that's not including the PS or the UI panel.

Did you see the pics in the diyAudio thread (they're too big to attach here)?

Classic cheap caps.

These boxes are essentially microprocessors, meaning they operate with a digital clock, etc, etc.
Shitty craps cause no end of grief with computer boards, so I expect them to do the same here.

The Behringer has a universal bad reputation for problems.
This goes hand-in-hand with bad caps.

Does the box run hot?
The Dell GX270 is the worst piece of shit I've ever seen for bad caps.
Even with premiumum Rubycon MCZ in place, this unit runs so horribly hot, the MCZ all pop.
I just recapped a GX270 using Sanyo solid polymers, which are more immune to temperature problems.

[ edit ]

If you recap the board, do so after the warranty expires.
They will use recapping as an opportunity to void your warranty.
