I agree. I just bought a circular saw (already had a table saw) and I am finding the circular saw + guideboard pattern to work out better than the tablesaw while building my THT as the Table Saw is unable to ripcut 4x8 sheets like the circular saw can. It's also very very portable. I don't have to lug out the table saw each time I want to make a cut.bgavin wrote:You can do a whole lot with a circular saw and guide boards.

Re: table saw help
I do 95% of my cuts with the circular saw.
Repetitive cuts, I do on the table saw if they are small enough.
I have yet to build an adjustable jig that will let me make accurate angle cuts with the circular saw.
Both the angle and square cut have to be dead accurate.

My biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my toys for what I said I paid for them.

What jigs do you use for your angle cuts?

I whip together a fixed-angle contraption.
Not very elegant, and takes a long time to set up.
Not practical for any production work.
