Titan 48 Measurement Confusion

#1 Post by mbigmic »

I am excited to begin building my first bass horn, the titan 48. The instructions are straightforward and clear enough, except for how the measurements are laid out on the cabinet side before any actual construction begins. When measuring from the outer edge of the side piece, does the measurement end on one side or the other of the inside panel? Does it matter to the proper performance of the horn in the end? Thanks for you help! By the way, I noticed that 1/2 inch OSB (oriented strand board) sells for around $5.00 a sheet at my local Lowes building supply store. While it may not be quite as strong as 4 ply exterior roofing sheathing, OSB stays flat, if kept dry, and free from warping as 1/2 plywood tends to do. Any thoughts on using OSB as a building material? Thanks! Michael

Please see link below... OSB is not recommended for building these speakers because of its high porosity and inferior structural integrity.

:?: Not sure if I understand. Read the plans 3x, then 3x more, and ....until it makes sense.
A little fudging (1/8") won't make much difference.

:iitp: Have a read over it a few times, it clearly explains how to measure and from what edge and to what part of the panel.
