Good evening,
As it looks like I'm going to build something off this site, it would seem a good idea to understand at what Hz - KHz the voice and various instruments operate at.
Is there a source in one place for that?
Cheers
You have two ears and one mouth. Use them in the same ratio!!
Quite Welcome Dave...
The pic. looks like a screen-shot of the host's program, so it may not be alive for long.
In inclusion of subjective terms is not common in these charts;
Because it is subjective, there will be differences in use of phrases:
ex. Many would not define "chest thump" in the 20hz-40hz range; ( instead say 50Hz and up ).
The ear sensitivity chart on that pic. shows part of the reason for vagueness; the ear hears best in the octaves around 1Khz ( the colored portion ) with less sensitivity at the extremes.
That, and genres of music and tastes in tonality,bass and treble.
To my ears the largest variations that occur in recordings is in the bass content mix.
It helps to establish some general form of common language; but someone's "just right" bass might be too much for me.
