A lot of guys here have used a lot of different piezos, and it's now "common knowledge" that all piezos are not created equal. MOST are pretty bad, with extreme variance from unit to unit and very high percentages of "bad apples" per lot. Overall, the Goldwood piezos have the best proven success rate. If you want to take a chance on the no-name $.50 piezos, that's up to you, but buy a LOT more than you need. Chances are that when you test them, you'll find that there will be a lot of rejects. It would be nice if that isn't the case, but don't count on it.

With the sale running that long, I'd recommend buying just a handful and maybe a few Goldwoods. Check and compare. No reason to buy $20 of $.50 drivers to find out they're all crap and aren't worth building into anything. Unfortunate deal is that it'll still take money to ship a handful, probably quite a bit more than just the drivers.

I finally looked at those. They won't get down to 2k, which is necessary for the arrays. Drop like a stone under 3.
