1/2" mdf for table saw sled?

1/2" mdf for table saw sled?

i have a bunch left over from a revious project. can i get by using this for building my sled or is it crucial to stick w 3/4"?

I'm not sure what other responses you might get, but I made a router table out of MDF by laminating 1/4 inch hardboard on both sides. It was very stable and lasted a long time. Not sure why it wouldn't work for the panel jig, but it will be heavy.

I have a router table made from MDF too. The weight is an asset, not a liability.

The table saw sled should be made from 1/2" material - otherwise you are giving up too much depth of cut, IMO. Also, my saw sled takes enough abuse coming on and off the saw that MDF would not hold up well enough for my tastes. Even so, I rebuild the sled every 2 years or so.

Ditto for me.
My biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my toys for what I said I paid for them.
