I just kept a couple of gallons of mineral spirit around and washed my hands with it before the glue dried. Worked like a champ. I also had a rag that I soaked in mineral spirits to wipe up any glue drips on the floor and on my tools before it could dry.

All the mineral spirits does to your hands is cut all the grease and natural oils. You can replenish those with common hand lotions.

And the mineral spirits only work before the glue has dried. Afterwords, you just have to peel it off like superglue (and take the layer of skin with it).

I get eczema..the mineral spirits doesn't aggravate it, provided you use a moisturising creme afterwards to prevent skin dehydration.

There are two main things which tend to set eczema off - soaps with surfactants ( that's why mineral spirits is the lesser of two evils ) and cold weather ( dryness of the air with low temperatures )

Too much beer doesn't seem to affect it though

Sadly Pigpen is also Dead.I thought it pretty cool however how Bruce Hornsby got to usher in the Dead to the rock and roll hall of fame.

Phil Lesh is still kicking, and evidently their steel player is also. I got to play celtic stuff with him in Grass Valley a couple years back. He was playing a pedal steel, and I was playing my banjo.

Barrier creams also help when it comes to keeping your hands clean. Don't know how that'd interact with the glue though.

no it doesn't, this is a lie

I guess I'll hunt down some mineral spirits before my next build at the end of this month, but right now I'm less than optimistic

on another note, the eczema is clearing up, at least a little bit, within a week or so I should be back to normal

If you are in the USA, and have a Horbor Freight Tools near you, pick up a box or 2 of the Nitrile gloves. Wear them whenever you are using PL. No latex, no PL.
