My racks and old SP2's are/were rat fur. The cost of a gallon of Duratex is well worth not having to pick stuff out of it to make it look presentable. Wipe it down with a damp cloth in most cases and call it good.DJ Big Ronn wrote:I forgot to mention, thats standing up side by side. V-couple if you can., it'll be that much better. Like a dumbass, I put rat fur on my subs, so if I lay them down, I have to clean them with a fro pick and a leaf blower.![]()

Re: BFM T48 vs. SP.com 186
I just ordered the hardware to build 4 more of these, I can't wait to get them outside.
A few points I wanted to mention to people considering the T48.
- If the T48 fits your needs, and you can accommodate a 4 ft box. Don't consider anything else, just build it. It's not a hard build at all if you take your time, and WOW is it worth it.
-1 fills a club for me with tons of bass playing hiphop/dance/r&b/oldschool hiphop, etc.. But I'd run 2 most likely; because i was just about hitting the end of my headroom, a few db more and it would be clip. This is ok to do if you don't over power the speaker and your limiter is set hard but I don't like stressing things out more than I have to.
-It's important to have fun, imo. These are DIY speakers that should bring joy, and a good feeling knowing you built it. That being said, PLEASE be careful when building, I say this because I recently had my table saw kick back at me and throw a piece of plywood right into my stomach, i'm ok, but it bruised me badly and dented my fence. But i'm alive, and all my fingers are on my hands. Luckily I'm a fat guy and I deflected the blow with my 15 layers of largeness.
-Follow the plans, Bill really did an awesome job on the plans- take it from someone who looked at a front and side view of a speaker and said "I can build that" It's much easier to have a guide.
-Use good wood and hardware, and the correct glue You'll be happy in the end when it stays together and works right the first time.

By all means. I hope my story can encourage more people to build them.
