Litterature on the how's and why's of sound?

I remember that Bill quite some time ago recommended a certain book that contains everything you need to know to know sound! I can't find it though..
He posted a link to it on Ebay if I'm correct..

Realistically: It depends if you want simple functional/operational advise, or the Sciences behind Sound: Physics, Electronics, the Physiology and Psychology of Auditory perception.
