I'm talking about the back panel brace that straddles the vent port. It's a square-sided tube that sits over the port. Bill says it's not for tuning the box like a traditional port tube, it's just a way to give the back panel some support without blocking the port. I don't get any back panel vibration so I never got around to installing the brace.
I stapled PetScreen over the speaker throat holes and the port hole after that picture was taken.
