Because of differences in construction details, it is better if you determine the balance point on your cabs as they are built. In my case, I was able to check two other fully completed cabinets to determine the balance point.novasak wrote:Hi,

If you still have the second side off, then place the woofer on the baffle, attach the second side with a couple of screws (two or three will do), and use a 1/2" x 1/2" piece of scrap to find the center of gravity of the box. Center the handle on that point.
The hole for the handle recess can be cut with a jigsaw with the back installed in the box.
No...but I accounted for that in the design. You can see the bracing in this pic. I added a couple of scraps of wood to hold a brace to the handle backer. PL and a couple of 1/4" staples held everything in place. All of the braces are 1/4", and there are dados for the braces on all panels that have them.novasak wrote:and does this interfere with the bracing at all?
