melded piezo with petscreen

#1 Post by basey »

Hi,
I just finished a couple melded piezos for the w10 plans.
After I got them together I glued the petscreen right to the piezos with black abs glue. I don't know if it anything new, but I think it looks pretty cool.

Here's a pic.

It does look very 8) cool basey.

I have a question. Why did you not trim down the long sides of the piezos?

To a certain point, the closer the elements are together, the better they work together.

Yeah, I know it will probably affect the responce somewhat.
They are trimmed on the omni 2x12s (From Speakerhardware) but I didn't like how flimsy they feel with the edges cut off.
I'm wanting these to be pretty strong floor montors.
Metal bands are usually so loud on stage the difference will probably be small. (I hope)

Basey, you have a valid point. Monitors generally take a lot of abuse. I put full corner bracing and two 2x4 reinforcements inside each of my monitors, because we jump on them and stand on them a lot ... our version of upstage and in the spotlight.
