Good website to buy Bolts?

#1 Post by scornil01 »

im looking to buy some 10-32 hex or allen bolts for my project and i was wondering if anyone knew where to get a lot online for cheap. at my local home depot and lowes its about 70 cents for two bolts and i need 16 or more for future projects. does anyone know a good website where i can buy in bulk?

or if anybody living in the Los Angles area can refer me to a good store?

I'm not sure if they'll come out cheaper, but the first place I look online for hardware (gears, bearings, bushings, etc.) is McMaster-Carr. Just type "bolts" in the search box and then start narrowing down your choices by type, finish, etc.

Even if they don't come out as a good price for your bolts, you might want to file them away in your bookmarks.

They're hard cover catalogue is huge and loaded with useful technical info on all their products. I used to keep an old copy in my tool box just for the information.

I just stumbled across Bolt Depot. I haven't used them, but they look interesting...

I've used Pheonix Fastner for years.

thanks guys.

just wondering... what type of bolts do you guys like to use for mounting speakers? i would think a hex bolt would be easier because u can use the socket wrench. but the plans say the allen head bolts are best.. which do you guys like better.

I'd try Leland first, than McMaster-Carr. They have or can get anything...for a price.
There is no technical problem however complex, that cannot be solved or finessed by a direct application of brute strength and ignorance.

I have allen bits that fit my wrench, slight preference for these, especially in cabs where space is tight (like DR250, T18). If there is more space, hex will work just fine for me too.

Of course Leland or Parts Express. Leland packs nice hardware in his kits so I would imagine he could get just about anything!

We have a local branch here and I use them for a backup supplier. Their retail prices are very good. They don't break packs though.
